Description
Griffin’s M4SD-K™ became well-known for its duty-rated durability, and the extremely versatile GATE-LOK™ QD Mounting Interface, designed to interface with milspec A2 birdcages – common to many AR-15’s on the market today – and Griffin GATE-LOK™ Muzzle Devices. The new M4SD-K™ (MOD 5) begins life as approximately eight inches of 17-4 H900 heat-treated stainless, tool steel, bar stock. We have found 17-4SS to provide markedly superior wear resistance, as compared to softer high nickel alloys of good reputation in industry. The heart of the M4SD-K suppressor is a billet machined “chassis” (tube body), with integrated muzzle device bearing surfaces, which houses the internal components.
The chassis is encompassed by a series of flutes surrounded by supporting structures affording enhanced strength to weight ratio coupled with a 40% increase of surface area for unparalleled cooling. Reducing the internal operating temperature of the suppressor yields a superior product with a level of durability beyond that of current market options. Monolithic structure of the blast chamber and tube maximizes safety factor and provides maximum theoretical temperature transfer, allowing heat to normalize, mitigating the effects of erosion to baffle surfaces.
The MOD 5 M4SD-K™ features an improved flash hider end cap design developed from the Recce 5K™ end cap to provide superior flash reduction over previous generations. This end cap works in conjunction with the ECO-FLOW™ baffle stack to improve tone, minimize gas back pressure, and heavily mitigate flash; a must for duty-use. A further durability enhancement in the MOD 5, is the integration of a full INCONEL blast baffle, an extreme durability and corrosion-resistant alloy, improving short sprint durability and lifespan of the suppressor.
The QD GATE-LOK™ mounting system does not suffer from the wear-prone issues of ratcheting systems common to the marketplace. Our mounting system was designed to provide trouble free use. The mounts of the GATE-LOK™ family of sound suppressor are precision ground to ten thousandths of an inch for minimal, repeatable and completely dependable point of impact shift.

No barrel restrictions! While longer barrels promote longer service life, this suppressor has no length restrictions!
*Silencer interface was designed to fit the USGI A2 government contract compliant muzzle devices. We cannot guarantee fitment with an A2 style compensator due to the broad tolerance range of both import and domestic devices from various brands. For guaranteed fitment, we recommend the purchase of a Griffin GATE-LOK™ muzzle device.

Got the can on a whim, and I’m really impressed by it. I wanted a tool that could serve several purposes and this was it. It did not want to by lots of muzzle devices to make this can work, espiscally for rifles I don’t shoot alot. This let me mount it on all my A2 birdcages without a new muzzle device. For being an older can, the sound suppression and tone is quite good. Muzzle flash is minimal, but acceptable. Wasn’t blinding with NVG’s. I’ve had it for approximately 3 years and it hasn’t had any problems and would recommend.

This is my first suppressor and I researched the crap out of it before I bought it (the gatelock mounting system sealed the deal). Most of my rifles are pinned and welds 14.5″ with BCM Extended A2s, it has worked flawlessly, I love this thing!!! It has been shot out a 20″, 14.5″ and 11.5″ (which was a little louder than the others), but it has functioned beyond my expectations. In over 30 years of shooting ARs, this was the first time that I shot without hearing protection and it was a amazing!!!! I’m not paid in any way shape or form by Griffin Armament or Capitol Armory but the process was as easy as it can be, shipped straight to my door in a far beyond enemy lines “CT” state. Do not hesitate if you are wondering about purchasing this suppressor it is 100% worth it.
