Description
The Griffin 607 Linear Comp is built to mimic the dimensions of the moderator used on the Colt 607 Carbine from the Vietnam War era. Sometimes considered the grandfather of the M4, the Colt 607 was the precursor to Colt’s CAR-15 series. Military of adoption of the 607 was very limited, and received a military designation as the G-5857 Carbine, a compact 10″ barrel “SMG” as it was considered. These were also one of the first carbines to ever be issued with a collapsable stock, further enhancing its maneuverability. From our understanding, these were issued to Navy SEAL’s, Army SF, and Army K-9 units, as the small size and moderated recoil allowed ease of operation and maneuverability while the other hand held the dog’s leash.
The Griffin 607 Linear Comp is an exact replica of the original, ideal for cloners looking for the perfect piece to finish off their 607 builds. These exceedingly rare rifles are hard to come by, as only 25-50 units were actually fielded during the war in Vietnam.
This product requires an A1 Armorers tool, Griffin Armorers tool, or thin 5/8″ wrench for installation. Torque to 30-35ft lbs and visually check alignment prior to firing.
