The Griffin Armament taper mount muzzle devices interface with our taper mounted suppressor (RECCE, PALADIN®, EXPLORR®, Sportsman, Optimus®). To be compatible with the Optimus® 9, THE BLAST BAFFLE MUST BE REMOVED.
The Taper Mount Hammer Comp provides 2 sacrificial baffles that reduce recoil and ensure maximum service life of your suppressor. Slotted compensating features provide tuned muzzle stability. CNC machined from a solid bar of heat treated 17-4ph stainless steel, the Taper Mount Hammer Comp is built to last.
This muzzle device is 1.89" length from the countersunk thread shoulder to the front face, and is = length to an A2 flash suppressor with .14" thick crush washer, so it can be used in conjunction with so called "14.7" barrels which are marketed as able to be permed to 16.1" non NFA length using an A2 and crush washer. The actual barrel length 14.835" will bring this device and crush washer mounted A2's to ~16.1" breech face to forward surface of permed barrel assembly. Taper Mount Thread Protector is compatible with this muzzle device for added protection of thread mounts.

Looks like a winner, have not had chance to shoot yet but installed day after receiving by my gunsmith. Fits like a glove and seamless with my suppressor.

The quality control on this is immaculate! Griffin Armament definitely has my future business.
I like the simplicity and effectiveness of the tapermount system and this compensator / brake works really well, with and without a can. It keeps the muzzle flat without excessive concussion. Kind of does the work of a brake and flash dissapator at the same time.
Perfect size and functionality. It also does a decent job with compensating. I am also mounting a Recce5 on this device. Works well!
Bought this for an aero m5 build. Install was simple, aligned perfectly, looks and performs great, and the sacrificial baffles give me peace of mind.
I wish this was the same price as the EZ Brake cause its flipping amazing. This should be mandatory hardware for the mid length design.
This is not my first Griffin muzzle device. The machine quality and finish are excellent. I’m planning to mount a Recce 5 on the build I’m working on, so I wanted to use the taper mount version of the device on my current rifle. Griffin is never a disappointment
