NO MORE TAX STAMPS!

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW

WHAT ARE MY OPTIONS?

With the passing of the Big Beautiful Bill, $200 tax stamps on suppressors are being eliminated starting January 1st, 2026.

In light of this news, we’re offering two transfer options for our suppressors: Immediate Transfer or Holding Until January 1, 2026.

Each option has its own benefits and considerations, and we’ve outlined the pros and cons below to ensure you can choose the path that best suits your needs!

Option 1: Immediate Transfer

With this option, you can initiate the ATF transfer process for your suppressor right away, paying the standard $200 tax stamp and beginning the approval process through the ATF eForms system immediately.

PROS:

  • Faster Access to Your Suppressor: By starting the transfer process now, you’ll receive your suppressor sooner. This means you can begin using your suppressor for shooting, hunting, or training earlier.

  • Avoid Potential Delays in 2026: Industry experts anticipate a significant increase in suppressor transfers starting January 1, 2026, due to changes in regulations and increased demand. Transferring now may help you avoid longer wait times if the ATF eForms system becomes overwhelmed.

  • Certainty in Current Process: Transferring now means you’ll follow the established ATF eForms process, which is familiar and predictable, rather than navigating any potential changes or updates to the system in 2026.

CONS:

  • Upfront Cost of $200 Tax Stamp: Choosing immediate transfer requires paying the $200 ATF tax stamp at the time of application, which is an additional cost you’ll need to cover now.

  • No Guarantee of Approval Timeline: While transferring now may help avoid future delays, ATF processing times can vary, and there’s no fixed timeline for approval. While extremely rare nowadays, it may still take several months for the ATF to clear it.

Option 2: Delay Transfer Until January 1st, 2026

With this option, Griffin Armament will hold your suppressor transfer until January 1, 2026, potentially allowing you to avoid the $200 tax stamp if regulatory changes take effect.

NOTE: This option is only available to silencers being fulfilled via Griffin’s Silencers To Your Door™ Program.

PROS:

  • NO TAX STAMP REQUIRED: If no regulation changes take place before 1/1/2026, you will no longer be required to pay the $200 tax stamp!

  • Reserve Your Suppressor: The industry is expecting a surge in suppressor orders after 1/1/2026, and it’s likely many manufacturers will be cleaned out of stock very quickly in the new year. Buying and holding now, reserves your suppressor in the future.

  • Potentially Simplified Process in the Future: If the ATF modifies or streamlines the transfer process in 2026, holding could allow you to benefit from a potentially faster or easier system.

CONS:

  • You’re Going to Wait: Holding your transfer until the new year is obviously going to make you wait, but once the transfer is submitted, it might be a wait again until approval. We are not the only company offering this choice, and with an increase in suppressor ordering, ATF eForms could become overloaded leading to longer wait times in the new year for approval.

  • No Guarantee of Approval Timeline: While it seems unlikely, there is still a chance this decision will be overturned or amended prior to Jan. 1, 2026. If that happens, there is a small chance you will be required to pay the $200 tax stamp even if you waited.

DISCLAIMER: While it seems unlikely, there is still a chance this ruling could get overturned, appealed, or modified. Griffin Armament is not responsible for any fees or tax stamp costs incurred by changes to the laws that are out of our control. Any orders held until the new year may be subject to tax stamp fees if regulations change between now and 1/1/2026. By purchasing a silencer and choosing the delayed transfer option, you are acknowledging and agreeing that your order is final and non-refundable regardless of what happens to this law and its rulings – NO EXCEPTIONS. Please be sure of your order and this situation BEFORE you place the order.
