The Griffin Armament Universal Taper mount provides a rock solid sound suppressor interface for RECCE, Paladin®, EXPLORR®, and Sportsman Silencers.
In 2010 Griffin launched the M4SD Tactical Compensator for Gate-Lok™ suppressors. This was a low concussion hybrid comp that allowed a compact yet high performance device to mount a suppressor. Consumers have been requesting a Taper Mount version of this for many years and we are happy to complete this product development without compromise. Griffin has focusing more on muzzle device R&D than any other suppressor manufacturer. This device incorporates vast R&D resources from years of testing low concussion devices but also adds to it with new technology. Billet machined from 2 pieces of 17-4 Stainless steel, this device is precision TIG welded together to provide the largest possible internal expansion chamber which reduces concussion as effectively as possible. This design would be impossible to manufacture in a single CNC cut work piece. The flash hider front cap was derived and applied from the high performance RECCE suppressor flash hider front caps while adding a thick erosion resistant face to ensure extremely long service life. CNC machining this device in two pieces is more expensive and time consuming than a single piece device for both machine time and human handling however no corners were cut to produce the optimal design. Blending lower pressure concussion and flash with reduced recoil and muzzle movement has been made possible for Taper Mount Suppressor users with the new Taper Mount Tactical Compensator.
The Taper Mount Thread Protector is compatible with this muzzle device for added protection of thread mounts.

Cant wait to run it on my reece 5 suppressor! I have an original M4SD tac comp from way back when only BCE, KAC, and Griffin were making these things. The KAC and BCE were never in stock and wayyyy overpriced! This thing is gonna kill it on my LWRC upper. Thanks guys!

Doing a fancy AR 15 build so only want the best. GRIFFIN has the best. Using it for my Reece 7. I love the Reece7 use it on my 223s up to my 300 win mag. Very high end equipment.

Ordered this with the plan-A taper mount as an alternative to the ASR mount. Love the design and idea of this but the tip of the muzzle device hits the first baffle inside the suppressor which does not allow it to be threaded on. Probably works great with advertised suppressors but does not work with the Hybrid.

I have AR pistols in 556 and 762 with short 8” barrels. Really tames down the violet muzzle flip. Also partnered them with the taper mount blast shield. Impressive!!!!

Great looking and great function, but it’s very loud and produces a lot of concussion. I’m sure this could be remedied with Griffin’s taper mount flash can though. If your goal is to pin and weld on a 14.5″ barrel, then the length is perfect. Just a hair over 16″ after install.

I use a 30cal TAPER MOUNT TACTICAL COMPENSATOR with the Eplorr Blast Shield on a 243 Ackley Improved. I swear this combination reduced the felt concussion by the shooter by at least 50%. I am using this combo for range days and hunting applications

I like these so much I am putting them on all my uppers. 5.56, 6.5 Grendel, and 300BLK so far. They are sexy when tucked inside a rail with a blast cage. Expensive? A bit. Worth it? Every penny.
