Description
Griffin Taper Mounts interface with RECCE, Paladin®, EXPLORR®, Sportsman, and Bushwhacker® series silencers, as well as all pistol silencers (Revolution and Resistance series) when using the minimalist blast shield. The Minimalist series supports the Optimus® 9 Mid-Size configuration as well as Optimus micro with taper extension.
Constructed of 17-4 PH stainless steel, the Taper Mount Minimalist flash suppressor has 3 flash suppressing tines which have anti-reasonance features integrated. The Minimialist flash suppressor weighs 2.9 ounces , approximately 40% less than that of most competing flash suppressor mounts. The lighter weight reduces suppressor system weight while making the host firearm barrel lighter and more responsive to the shooter. The flash suppressor does not require timing. Taper Mount Thread Protector is compatible with this muzzle device for added protection of thread mounts.

What can I say, they look Great and work great. There is a bit of pinging when working the bolt when unloaded and doing a function test. When firing I noticed no pinging at all. The flash hider works at dusk, well my 8.5″ 5.56mm still throws a heck of a fireball at night, but that is to be expected. Great supressor mount!

I love the taper mount muzzle devices from this company. Great design for mounting a suppressor, very well thought out, and very well executed. The finish quality is superb, and though this minimalist design does exhibit more flash than the original, longer flash hider (please bring that design back, Griffin!), it does a good job cutting most of it. The only thing I’d change is resume including the thread protector with each device again.

I am not a fan of muzzle breaks at all. I have a Recce 5 and it comes with a Minimalist break. That was never a problem cause I always kept the can on that rifle. Once I purchased another rifle that I run suppressed 20% of the time I decided to put the Recce on it…because it sounds so freaking good! I digress. Not only does this thing look sexy on a rifle, but for as short as it is suppresses the flash on a 14.5″ barrel. Plus you don’t get that annoying twang like you do on other flash hiders.

Larger than I initially thought however is VERY well built. You can feel the quality and see it as well. Let it be known you do not need shims for this as it does not need to be timed. Used this for a Form 1 with Griffin adapter. Works like a dream. Will be using Griffin adapters for just about everything after my experience with these adapters. BUY WITH CONFIDENCE!

Griffin’s muzzle devices are extremely well made. The deep nitriding is as close to perfection as I’ve seen. Works well for being shorter than a conventional flash hider. I do not get any twang so the relief cuts don’t appear to be a gimmick. I’m not sure how they can have such an impact on this to be honest. Highly recommended. My only suggestion would be for them to offer more options in 14x1LH.

When you look at the pictures of these, they don’t look like much. When you hold it in your hand, the quality is obvious. It’s heavier than you would expect (that’s not a bad thing), and the machining and finish is outstanding, just like every other Griffin product. I waited quite a while for them to restock these in 14x1LH for use on my AK, and when I saw it in stock I couldn’t buy it fast enough. I got the thread protector too, just because. And yes, it’s also top-notch quality. Rockin’ an Optimus on an AK? You know it. Kick Ass!

I have these on several 5.56 firearms, one 300 Blackout and one 7.62×39. It is a great product if you intend on using the minimalist blast shield in combination with one of Griffin’s suppressors.
If you’re looking to suppress an AK variant, DO NOT purchase the 14×1 LH minimalist flash hide as it will index off your front sight post and not the barrel. I bought two thinking the muzzle device was the issue the first time. I even wound up sending the rifle back to the manufacturer, where they confirmed concentricity of the bore. What I wound up having to do is purchase the 5/8×24 adapter a 3rd minimalist flash hider in 5/8×24. After that is worked extremely well. Just a pain that they would offer the 14×1 LH version even though it will not work. If I didn’t purchase an alignment rod to be sure, I would have ruined the suppressor. I’m sure they would repair or replace it though, should that happen.

I purchased a minimalist flash suppressor for a Zastava M90 to attach a Recce 5 that I received in my very first Griffin subscription box. It works great and everyone loves it. I recommend buying a griffin armorers wrench to snug it on as some other wrenches are to fat to fit between the threads and the base. There was no slot for the mount adapter driver on mine.

I have way too many griffin muzzle devices. My only complaint is the price. I think they are overpriced by about 20%. That being said, limited in choices and the quality and variety is great.

I bought this to put on a sig mpx. I shoot almost exclusively suppressed and have limited QD options for 13.5×1 LH thread pitches. This mount works very good for that purpose.
