Description
Griffin Taper Mounts interface with RECCE, Paladin®, EXPLORR®, Sportsman, Optimus®, and Bushwhacker® series silencers, as well as all pistol silencers (Revolution and Resistance series) when using the minimalist blast shield.
Constructed of 6AL4V Titanium, the Taper Mount Minimalist Brake (Ti) has a wear resistant baffle that increases suppressor service life. Additionally the brake features compensating ports that help reduce muzzle climb while assisting in reducing felt recoil. The (Ti) Minimialist brake weighs an air light 1 ounce making it the lightest functional suppressor mount / muzzle device ever manufactured. Approximately 75% less weight than that of most competing suppressor mounts, the Titanium Minimalist Brake reduces suppressor system weight while making the host firearm barrel lighter and more responsive to the shooter. Each brake comes with a shim set for timing. The device is finished in type 2 Tiodize, a dull grey, durable, anti-galling finish.

My Titanium Minimalist Brake Taper Mount came quickly and the machining and finish on it are superb. My suppressor locks up tightly in the same spot every time, significantly reducing POI shift. The minimalist style brake also increases the volume of the initial blast chamber in the suppressor, because of it’s small size and actually allowed me to use an additional baffle in my suppressor. The only thing I will say is make sure you clean all the packing grease before mounting your suppressor and add a drop of oil or you will have a tough time removing your suppressor from the mount if the mount comes off the gun with the suppressor.

This is a very high quality muzzle brake. Very effective in reducing the recoil of my 300 Winchester Magnum. It’s light weight, compact size, and has a clean look to it. Being that it is manufactured from Titanium it is very strong. Highly recommended.

I’m coming from the 17-4 EZ brake, which was already good. When you first get ahold of this brake, it almost feels like plastic or a toy. I like the finish a lot and it’s very tough from what saw during the install. Clocking was fairly straightforward. Isn’t much louder than the ez brake, and about half the weight of the 17-4. Definitely recommend for any ultralight builds or bolt gun users.

Excellent concentricity, fit and finish. Generous selection of perfectly sized assortment of shims.
The thread cuts must be machined, because i have a form 1 Ti can that is 11″ long and baffles that are cut CLOSE. I can remove the can and switch to other barrels with this same brake, throw a Gissele alignment rod through the can and down the bore and i have concentric spacing all around the rod. Never a baffle strike but i have to stress to snug the can up and RESNUG after the first 2-5 shots and check frequently for safety. The last fraction of rotation creates a rock solid mount platform in this taperlok design- the most secure i know of.
This minimalist titanium is great for rifles that a brake is appreciates but not nessessarily NEEDED(i.e. .300blk, 6arc, 6.5grendel, 224 Valkrie, .223wilde/ rem/5.56). It cuts recoil by approx. ?-½ but makes report loud. Griffin’s thread protector is a great finish to their tapermounts too- but alas, they are in blackened tool steel. No offering in Ti.
These were the perfect addition to light-weight Proof Research barrels to keep weight to a minimum.
A bit spendy but a perfect, handsome addition to your muzzle’s end. Well done Griffin. Keep on building these please.

Every Item I have from Griffin is top notch. Perfect fit and finish and precise. I have All my guns fitted with the taper mount system and every single one was perfectly concentric. This titanium break is beautiful and keeps my suppressor set up 100% titanium and light at the front.
