The Griffin Armament Universal Taper mount provides a rock solid sound suppressor interface for RECCE, Paladin®, EXPLORR®, and Sportsman Silencers.
Several years ago Griffin came out with a Linear comp for it’s Gate-LOK™ series of suppressors. Shortly afterwards consumers requested a version for their Taper Mount suppressors as well. Griffin has focusing more on muzzle device R&D than any other suppressor manufacturer. Billet machined from 2 pieces of 17-4 Stainless steel, this device is precision TIG welded together to provide the largest possible internal expansion chamber in a Taper Mount. This design would be impossible to manufacture in a single CNC cut work piece. The welded on front cap features gas jet nozzles protected by a wire cutter shroud to focus concussive blast forward and away from the shooter and by standers in the immediate vicinity. CNC machining this device in two pieces is more expensive and time consuming than a single piece device for both machine time and human handling however no corners were cut to produce the optimal design. For users seeking the lowest concussion muzzle device that can be used either stand alone or with a suppressor this is the unit for them.
The Taper Mount Thread Protector is compatible with this muzzle device for added protection of thread mounts.

This thin is insane, never knew a firearm could be this percievably quiet to the shooter. Its almost like a mini can, even though i know its not. It pushes all the sound and blast forward which is great if im not running my can for some reason. With the can i don’t notice any real difference in sound suppression vs my other devices.

I have a Desert Tech MDR with an over-molded suppressor hand guard that extends past the end of the barrel. Without a suppressor attached, you can’t use any kind of muzzle device that vents out the sides. The Taper Mount Linear Comp fixes this problem by venting out the front when I’m not using a suppressor, and is a perfect mount for my Optimus suppressor. Plus it looks great and the quality is typical top-notch Griffin. Another excellent product!

I’ve only shot this a few rounds i suppressed with double ear pro and don’t intend to shoot unsuppressed in the future. It is the only blast forward device I’ve been exposed to. Shooting it indoors lacked the felt reverberation and queasy feeling I get in my abdomen from bare muzzles.

Works well as a comp, you have a lot of muzzle flash at the end of an un-suppressed 12.5 barrel AR in 556. Definitely helped shooters to the right and left of me as they did not notice any concussion from my shooting, meaning the comp is definitely linear and does its job! I’ll comment later once my suppressor comes in on how it is with a can on it!

Perfect mounting device for my silencer

I’ve installed 3 of these devices. The EZ Brake that comes with the RECCE suppressors did not pair well with a 7.5″ barrel due to the flash and concussion felt by the shooter and everyone around. This Linear comp greatly helped with the concussion and did minimize the flash that’s visible in daylight; I only notices a fireball every few rounds instead of every round fired with M193.
The device comes with shims for timing the device so that the Griffin logo is oriented at the 12 O’clock. However, if you shoot a few hundred rounds the Griffin logo almost disappears. So, timing IMO is optional.
I’m hoping this device will also prolong the life of the suppressor when used on a sub 16″ host.

I own two of these and highly recommend them to friends and new gun owners. Directing the concussion down range, and not out to the side like most muzzle flash hiders, the sound is noticeably easier to handle. Especially at an indoor range. Great product, and does an amazing job.
