The Griffin Armament taper mount muzzle devices interface with our taper mounted suppressor (RECCE, PALADIN®, EXPLORR®, Sportsman, Optimus®). To be compatible with the Optimus® 9, THE BLAST BAFFLE MUST BE REMOVED.
The Taper Mount Hammer Comp provides 2 sacrificial baffles that reduce recoil and ensure maximum service life of your suppressor. Slotted compensating features provide tuned muzzle stability. CNC machined from a solid bar of heat treated 17-4ph stainless steel, the Taper Mount Hammer Comp is built to last.
This muzzle device is 1.89″ length from the countersunk thread shoulder to the front face, and is = length to an A2 flash suppressor with .14″ thick crush washer, so it can be used in conjunction with so called “14.7” barrels which are marketed as able to be permed to 16.1″ non NFA length using an A2 and crush washer. The actual barrel length 14.835″ will bring this device and crush washer mounted A2’s to ~16.1″ breech face to forward surface of permed barrel assembly. Taper Mount Thread Protector is compatible with this muzzle device for added protection of thread mounts.

Ok, so you have an sbr/pistol. Taper mounts are key with the optimus silencer. I have the flash comp 556, single break 300blk & 556, double break taper mount I use for 6.5 creedmore. The hammer comp for the 1/2×28 is a godsend. Flat shooting out a 10.5 & 11.5 with low concussion. This is the best taper mount IMO. Buy 2… you never know, and they are not easy to come by (waited a year). Thanks Evan and Austin for great products.

Purchased the Taper Mount Hammer Comp muzzle device and Thread Protector for my AR 15 build directly from Griffin Armament. Product was shipped within 48 hours, arrived on time and as described. Had a gunsmith pin and weld this compensator on a Faxon Firearms barrel and was pleased with the final fit and finish. After a trip to the range, was satisfied with the level of flash suppression. So far so good…planning to purchase the Optimus suppressor to go on it in the near future.

I love this comp. It has the look of a VG6 with the great taper mount of Griffin. I replaced my minimalist with this because it is more sacrificial than the minimalist which should help with the supressor report and life.

Got this for a form1 can using a titanium adapter. Fits like a charm and looks amazing, wish the thread protector was still included though. Had to pay $16 to add it. Still, love these taper mounts!

I have owned the Optimus suppressor for a few years now and I am still very impressed with the versatility of it. It works as great on the AR15 or the .308 bolt gun, I have multiple taper mounts and I think this one it the best fit and function of them all.

I like the simplicity and effectiveness of the tapermount system and this compensator / brake works really well, with and without a can. It keeps the muzzle flat without excessive concussion. Kind of does the work of a brake and flash dissapator at the same time.
