SR M-LOK Rail 12.5″

SKU N/A Category

$179.95

Description

Griffin Armament® M-LOK compatible SR rails (Suppressor Ready) allow up to 1.5” outside diameter silencers to be mounted inside the octagonal M-LOK rail. This provides suppressor aficionados a sleek, and compact overall length to AR15 type firearms.

Design objectives of this rail were to provide a suppressor compatible rail, with increased rigidity and durability over similar weight and profile current market options. A custom extrusion provides significant internal reinforcements to reduce flex when loading the carbine on the rail.

These reinforcements provide rigid mounting for IR laser aimers ensuring minimal POI shift when torque is applied to fore-grip type accessories, or when loads are applied to the rail such as practical shooting off barricades or when loading bipods for rapid follow up shots. Internal practical testing showed substantial reductions in POI shift with laser aimers versus competing “slim rails” that lacked this notable product feature.

The new SR rails features a close tolerance, heavy-duty, 7075 aluminum, T-6, type 3 hard coat anodized finish. The barrel nut can be easily installed to 35-85 ft/lbs using the included Griffin Armorers Wrench.  The new slip fit clamp design is extremely user friendly and does not require any shims or special timing methods. The clamp geometry in the rear section of the rail is low profile and ergonomically pleasing even for long durations of extended carry at static security positions. Flat head T15 torx screws should be tightened to 25/in pounds.  M-LOK flats on each 45 degree surface allow for mounting of your favorite M-LOK accessories. A contiguous picatinny top rail ensures repeatable and accurate mounting for night vision and thermal systems.

If you are looking for a high quality, feature rich, American made rail system for your AR15 type firearm look no further than Griffin Armament® SR rails.

    Two words: light, legit

  2. Tom Barrett

Product works PERFECT and has just enough I.D. for the GP5 to fit!

1st Customer Service was great! I ordered the wrong length and they swapped it out prior to shipping and even adjusted the price downward since the one I wanted was a few dollars cheaper.
2nd the rail is everything I was expecting and stiffer than the MidWest Industries rail I was running.

  4. James Henderson

This rail is an excellent compliment to my 300 blk build as I went with a 10.5 in. barrel and wanted a little more reach than the 9.5 inch rail that I had already installed. The finish and the machining is top notch and it went together with ease. G.A. is cool enough to include a multipurpose barrel wrench, and my order processed and shipped super quick.

This seems to be an excellent rail. Fit/finish is superb, it’s EXTREMELY rigid and will serve most very well. HOWEVER, if you plan on running a 1.5 diameter suppressor under the rail you WILL NOT be able to attach any mlok accessories due to the fact that the rail is so slim there’s not enough clearance between the inside of the rail and the suppressor to fit mlok nuts. Wish this was advertised in the description of the rail so I’ll be returning this. I have already ordered the 9.5 SR rail to use instead so that should show I believe this is a good product.

Full Review of This Handguard in 12.5″

    – Quality and Function
Works well — barrel nut is a little light, but it’s the improved version, alongside screws and shims, so just as pictured.

Exceptional quality all the way around, as a mock setup with this and another OEM’s stripped upper receiver makes this rail the best in its class — yes, this makes the build, and what Griffin has here is full on the best out of any SD-style handguard that other companies offer.

If you’re wondering why, well,, between the clamping pressure of the screws, as well as it’s flush fit to any upper, and the friction created by the barrel nut, will keep this locked in. Zero complaints. At all. Ever.

    – Is My Build Yours?
I want to eventually move into tucking a suppressor — I’m not concerned about the technicalities of baffle strikes, since this handguard will hug most things and keep them stable.

What I did want to know is would the 12.5″ length handguard let a gas block on a 20″ 1:9 twist HBAR, stick out a little if I wanted say, gas block mounted sights, or a tunable gas block?

    And the answer is yes.

    -Holds Zero
Yes, it holds zero. It fits flush with the OEM upper I went with since Griffin is taking a break from making their Terra Brown stripped uppers, and the rigidity speaks for itself as this design out performs all of the SD rails made by other OEMs.
Unlike other uppers which try to shave off weight, the guys and gals at Griffin know what most people want — top picatinny rail not flanked by obnoxious ports for air to travel, stiff, easy to work with, and yes, capable of holding zero.

Overall verdict is get it. You can tuck suppressors, the rail system compliments them and rides tight, and at this length, goes great with other setups when what you want is a more hexagonal and larger rail system.

Again, second to none. Knocking it out of the park on this one. And as the sticker I received in my packaging says, “Eat Meat”. Thanks Griffin!

    Awesome bleepin’ work.
