The EXPLORR® Blast Shield was designed to offer significant concussion reduction for the end user and other team members operating in the immediate vicinity. Often team members in CQB environments experience concussion from muzzle blast that is not only deafeningly loud, but also can cause prolonged headaches that can last for days afterwards.
Especially effective on short barrels, the unique design of the EXPLORR® Blast Shield directs concussive force forward allowing an end user to rapidly reconfigure muzzle device function. Ultra strong 17-4PH stainless steel and laser welded construction provides a robust material and build method to withstand intense use and full auto fire without fear of failure.
Melonite QPQ surface treatment provides an extremely hard, durable, and attractive finish.
The Griffin Taper Mount interface is a gold standard in the industry, providing secure attachment, and unbeatable accuracy to consumers for over a decade. This interface has been improved however, with the Taper Mount-RI™ Rapid Index) interface feature, being 3X faster to mount than the original by engineering a precision indexing feature in the interface and using fewer machined thread rotations in a more optimal position within the body.
The Griffin EXPLORR® Blast Shield is compatible with our line of Taper Mounts up to 9mm.

I bought one to use on my AR pairing with my 3 prong taper mount, the Shields blast reduction is clearly evident and eliminates the slight pin of the flash hider. I also tried it on my bolt gun and I had no POI shift with it.

Switched over to GA and purchased this in the mean time while waiting for tax stamp to come back. I like it. Overall the muzzle flash is a bit aggressive when using the stubby three prong on a 12.5 5.56. But overall I like it.

I am using the Eplorr Blast Shield with a 30cal TAPER MOUNT TACTICAL COMPENSATOR on a 243 Ackley Improved. I swear this combination reduced the felt concussion by the shooter by at least 50%. I am using this combo for range days and hunting applications. Super happy

Obvious high quality design. Does great to focus powder blast forward of the muzzle. Curious to see how well this helps on a humid night of moving that powder smoke out of the way.

Works great with the early taper mounts. Takes that overwhelming blast out of the hammer comp and two port taper mounts. It keeps the flash down at night. Anytime you’re not running the suppressor it is worth having on.

I bought this along with a TAPER MOUNT PALADIN® BRAKE, I wanted this to eliminate the side discharge on the Muzzel Brake and it did that very well. Very nice craftsmanship!
