The CAM-LOK® (Covert Application Mount – Locking) is a universal QD piston system comprised of two parts, the piston, and the barrel adapter. This product page is for the piston (bronze color part that is installed in the suppressor).
The Griffin Armament CAM-LOK® interface affords the user the ability to convert the suppressor to a much faster and more secure mounting solution on browning style action (tilt barrel) pistols vs it’s legacy technology, single piece, direct thread piston counterparts. This system provides a rapid, secure attachment to the host pistol. Direct thread single piece pistons have several negative attributes. They do not accept tools, and are hand tightened to the host firearm. As a result of hand installation, they loosen when the piston system reciprocates under slide cycling during the firing sequence. This vibration and inadvertent loosening of pistol silencers, requires end users to constantly check tighten pistol silencers. This periodically causes users to have “bad range days” with unforeseen baffle strikes and end cap strikes. These unfortunate events cause logistically burdensome work for consumers to communicate with service departments, ship products back and forth, and sometimes assume charges for repair for these issues.
No longer do users need to worry about their pistol suppressors loosening during use (as with traditional fixed direct thread pistons). The CAM-LOK® system supports a 3/4″ socket wrench for installation with prevailing torque, and features a taper lock system, which encourages secure attachment, despite the piston still actuating for and aft during the firing sequence. The piston can be attached / detached in any one of three, 120 degree positions, ensuring there are no “false positive” interfacing positions to slow deployment of the suppressor onto the host firearm. Additionally, the manufacturing accuracy of the interface is held to Griffin Armament’s high quality standards for squareness, and concentricity, ensuring that each mounting position has similar and minimal POI shift influence. To support this, the mating pistons have all mating diameters and interfacing geometry qualified in a single operation, for tool quality accuracy and perfection. A similar manufacturing theory was applied to the barrel adapter for maximum alignment accuracy.
End users benefit from being able to attach their silencer to various adapter interfaced host firearms, without having to disassemble the suppressor and change the piston to a different thread pitch. The CAM-LOK® pistons are “universal”; accommodating any pistol mounted with a 3 Lug CAM-LOK® barrel adapter. Additionally, end users with different brand suppressors supported by the CAM-LOK® piston family, will be able to benefit from the interchangeability of CAM-LOK® barrel adapters between piston models.
These Pistons are required for use with the Revolution®, Resistance®, Optimus® 9mm, and Bushwhacker® 46 in the pistol configurations.
It is important to intermittently clean and lubricate the exterior of the piston and interior of the booster housing to ensure smooth reciprocation with the O ring in the piston retainer.
O-Rings should be replaced intermittently when worn to ensure alignment of the silencer with the booster assembly. Failure to replace damaged or worn O-rings could result in a baffle strike or damage to the piston components.
Piston are H900 heat treated with a rust inhibitor. Please note, color and color pattern will vary due to the heat treatment.
Note: CAM-LOK® is designed to be a covert, QD silencer attachment method, and should not be perceived as an active-locking system. CAM-LOK® should be check-tightened each magazine at a minimum. For customers looking for a more traditionally-threaded system with increased retention, we recommend EZ-LOK™ as an alternative.
Installation & Use Notes : Suppressor should be tightly assembled when using this product to avoid inadvertent disassembly of the suppressor when removing it from QD barrel adapter. Barrel adapters should be installed to their host firearms with a minimum torque rating of 20 ft/lbs using a 3/4 socket and needle type torque wrench. Use of a box end wrench will not have optimal contact with the wrench flat geometry on the adapter and may damage the adapter.

When I first saw this product, my interested was PIQUED. Mostly because I just love innovation and forward thinking design, but also because I love all things suppressed and this is just plain cool. Conventional pistons directly thread onto your barrel and should be REALLY TIGHTENED to ensure alignment and avoid disaster. I used to use both hands to put my Omega 9k on and sometimes, it wouldn’t want to come off after firing. That’s the epitome of first world problems I know, but this piston and the corresponding muzzle devices helped alleviate that and I can do so many more things with the time I’ve saved by not having to thread my cans on directly. Not only is it very fast, there’s a taper in the piston and devices that ensures alignment AND friction to keep the can tight without having to smoke it on there. I was curious to see how well it worked and after a suppressed mag dump with just a single hand of torque, I’m ecstatic to report that it was still tight and I had no issues. This thing is awesome and worth every penny in my opinion, but I’m always suppressing everything that I can so your mileage may vary. The only downside to me is the cost of the muzzle devices for your barrels. At $60 a piece, that adds up and if you’re like me, you don’t like swapping devices around if you don’t have to. Given Griffin’s innovation, I absolutely didn’t mind paying for a new piston and two muzzle devices. I’ll be picking up at least one more and then a few more as I acquire more threaded pistols! Thank you Griffin!

This piston worked great on my SilencerCo Omega 9K. You have to get the cam-lok barrel adapter also to make the entire system work. Let me tell you these two products work great. With utilizing the corse thread in conjunction with the taper lock between the two parts the suppressor doesn’t move. Screw it down the half a turn and it is locked on. No amount of shooting on my Glock 19, Archon Type B, CZ P01 did it ever start to back off the threads like a typical direct thread does. This is a great product!! Thank you Griffin for inventing such a wonderful product.

I ordered two sets of cam lock pistons and thread adapters for my Silencerco Octanes as soon as I heard about them. Pisrons, no matter the manufacturer, have to be checked frequently when shooting because they can cone loose. This works as advertised. It protects the threads, stays tight when shooting, and attaches quickly. I am impressed that they made these for many popular silencers other than just their own. Anybody want to buy some used Silencero piston? Because I won’t be using them anymore!
CAM-LOK First use –
Quality is first rate! Ease of use gets a ten out of ten. Performance, not really sure as the POI changed drastically from the screw on piston to the cam lok version … jury is out. I took my revo 45 can home and have cleaned for another trip (verify assembly). Hope POI comes back (LWRC 45)

Wow, just Wow. I can finally shoot my suppressed handguns without having stop and tighten the suppressor. Easy on and off as well. Works great on my Rugged 45. Only down side the piston does not fit my Silencerco Osprey, no slots on the side.

The piston is excellent. Not much to write about a piston, but one of these is all you need. There is a bit of technique needed to mount the cam lok. Most people want to wrench it down there but that’s not how it’s designed. With mine about 1/2mm from being totally bottomed out is when you can spin the suppressor and lock it up. It’s very secure. Makes it so that you can swap hosts with ease without changing pistons.

I ordered the cam lok piston for my resistance 45 and also the barrel adapter. I put it on my FNX 45t and put 100 plus rounds down range and never had to re tighten my can to the barrel and not once did it come loose! It ran exactly as it was supposed to. May days of changing dirty pistons on my SilencerCo Osprey in order to use it on my multiple suppressor hosts with different thread patterns is over. The CAM-LOK now allows me to use my Osprey on my 1/28”, M13.5x1L and .578” hosts without having to do anything but turn it off of one host and turn it on to another. The first time I tried the CAM-LOK system, the adapter to piston was very tight but eventually it broke in nicely. I suspect the adapter and piston threads need to break in to each other but once they broke in, it’s a smooth turn on and off now. The only thing I don’t like about the system is the barrel adapter adds length to barrel but this is a small price to pay for a QD system for my pistols. Looking to buy another CAM-LOK for my other pistol suppressor once it clears NFA jail. Great product and I highly recommend it.

I purchased the Cam-Lok QD system for a handful of handguns. This prevents you from having to switch pistons when changing firearms and is worth its weight in gold. It works well, but you have to make sure you tighten firmly otherwise the suppressor can come loose. When it does happen, it is obvious though.

These mounts/pistons from griffin are truly a step forward in the pistol mounted silencer world. Gone are the days of having to check your can every mag while shooting. The only con I can see is the mount has to be removed from your pistol barrel if you want to clean your gun. Was a bit nervous about mixing different companies parts but this fit my Dead Air perfectly. In conjunction with the Cam-Lok barrel adapter this provides a simple, tight and secure connect of the suppressor to the pistol. Fired about 50 rounds and the suppressor was as secure after firing as it was when installed. Also bought the Cam-Lok compensator to protect the barrel adapter. Haven’t fired it with it on but it adds a nice look in comparison to the plain barrel adapter.
