Description
The CAM-LOK® Carry Comp was developed to provide concealed carry gun owners using the CAM-LOK® barrel adapters with enhanced recoil mitigation and muzzle control without unnecessary weight and bulk. Adding only a few tenths of an inch in length beyond a typical thread protector the patented CAM-LOK® Carry Comp provides brute strength and gas direction with its close dimensioned 17-4SS ported baffle face. Significantly reducing recoil decreases split times between shots while improving group sizes. Its minimal size and weight ensure that the CAM-LOK® Carry Comp will not significantly print on concealed carry clothing like other comps or burden the end user with unnecessary weight. Wrench flats provide the user with the ability to use a 11/16″ socket to torque the device into place*. A taper inside the device secures it to the CAM-LOK® barrel adapters. The CAM-LOK® Carry Comp offers and affordable solution to CAM-LOK® end users desiring recoil mitigation when suppressors are not in use.
As an option, you may add-on the Micro Carry Comp Keychain Multitool for easy torquing of your compensator to the required spec values below (+$11.99). This tool allows attachment of a 1/4″ drive socket wrench and interfaces with the geometry on the end of the EZ-LOK™ and CAM-LOK® Micro Carry Comps to make secure torquing a breeze. The tool also features a flathead screwdriver and bottle opener with a hole to keep it secured to your keychain or range bag.
*Required installation torque ~2.5 ft/lbs or 30 in/lbs, this is very light torque using a wrench. We recommend the user holds the wrench over the muzzle device (a short grip). Users should feel a perceptible “squish” as the tapers engage indicating installation torque has arrived. As this product is intended for carry purposes, we recommend confirming tightness every magazine (~15 rds). Hand torque installation without tools will likely result in an improperly secured CAM-LOK® Carry Comp and may contribute to loss of the device.

Note: CAM-LOK® is designed to be a covert, QD silencer attachment method, and should not be perceived as an active-locking system. CAM-LOK® should be check-tightened each magazine at a minimum. For customers looking for a more traditionally-threaded system with increased retention, we recommend EZ-LOK™ as an alternative.

Converted two pistols to the CAM-LOK system this should be included with the adapter to protect the threads. This does tame the recoil of .45 and looks cool also.
Another great product from a great company.
Next step is converting ASR to taper-mount!

I just received my New Carry Comps from Griffin Armament and they fit great, since I have OCD , my biggest worry was the exposed threads on the Cam- Loc adaptors, put these on all my carry guns and They look and feel awesome….Best thing I have done to protect them….I will do another review down the road when I test them for the Compensator design..

Well made product and does a great job of protecting the Cam Lock adapter on the barrel. Cannot comment on how well it works as a compensator as i have not used it for that purpose.

The compensator’s lockup with a positive click. Installed on the weapon, they present as slightly larger than some of my thread protectors. The weapon seems to fit my holster. I have not made it to the range yet.

The compensator definitely makes a noticeable difference in mitigating recoil. For the price, it’s a perfect add on to protect your CAM-LOK threads. Make sure to read instructions on torquing the compensator down because I didn’t and lost one. Cheers!

Run it on my MR920. Torqued it on like the instructions say. 300 rounds of mixed hollow point and ball rounds. Didn’t move at all. Improved follow up shot time and definitely better felt recoil impulse. Would definitely recommend.

I’m giving it a 3 star cause I haven’t got to shoot it yet but I’m curious as to why the comp has to be torque down but when your running suppressed mounted with the same cam lock attachment it doesn’t have to be… and I have put it on there with just hand tightening then racked the pistol a few times and it comes off so it’s interesting that happens makes me nervous about the mount for the suppressor

This is the second cam-lok comp I’ve bought from GA. I use a GA Cam-Lok piston with my Dead Air suppressor/booster and love the looks of the comp when the suppressor is on another firearm. With the added benefit of protecting the threads this is a must have when using the GA Cam-Lok barrel adapter.

Excellent! I purchased these two units to protect the barrel threads and test fired them. Tightening them to 30 in.-lbs. of torque aint much, but it works. Tested inserting and removing from holster was smooth–no leather scuffed off as the threads did. Checking torque after 50 shots revealed no change, looked good.

I was skeptical at first but this thing actually took a rather noticeable amount of recoil off of my Hellcat. Be sure to twist it down tight though like the instructions say. I launched mine down the range and into a rubber mulch berm never to be seen again. Good thing they’re reasonably priced as far as comps go.

Have both 9 and 45 comp. The QD for the 45 is huge.
