Description
The CAM-LOK® (Covert Application Mount – Locking) Universal piston system is comprised from two parts, the piston or CAM-LOK® direct thread adapter, and the barrel adapter. This product page is for the barrel adapter (smaller black component pictured).
The Griffin Armament CAM-LOK® interface affords the user the ability to convert the suppressor to a much faster and more secure mounting solution on pistols vs it’s legacy technology, single piece, direct thread piston counterparts. This system provides a rapid, secure attachment to the host pistol. Direct thread single piece pistons have several negative attributes. They do not accept tools, and are hand tightened to the host firearm. As a result of hand installation, they loosen when the piston system reciprocates under slide cycling during the firing sequence. This vibration and inadvertent loosening of pistol silencers, requires end users to constantly check tighten pistol silencers. This periodically causes users to have “bad range days” with unforeseen baffle strikes and end cap strikes. These unfortunate events cause logistically burdensome work for consumers to communicate with service departments, ship products back and forth, and sometimes assume charges for repair for these issues.
No longer do users need to worry about their pistol suppressors loosening during use (as with traditional fixed direct thread pistons). The CAM-LOK® interface supports a 3/4″ socket wrench for installation with prevailing torque, and features a taper locking system, which encourages secure attachment, despite the piston still actuating for and aft during the firing sequence. The piston or CAM-LOK® direct thread adapter can be attached / detached in any one of three, 120 degree positions, ensuring there are no “false positive” interfacing positions to slow deployment of the suppressor onto the host firearm. Additionally, the manufacturing accuracy of the interface is held to Griffin Armament’s high quality standards for squareness, and concentricity, ensuring that each mounting position has similar and minimal POI shift influence. To support this, the mating pistons and CAM-LOK® direct thread adapters have all mating diameters and interfacing geometry qualified in a single operation, for tool quality accuracy and perfection. A similar manufacturing theory was applied to the barrel adapter for maximum alignment accuracy.
End users benefit from being able to attach their silencer to various adapter interfaced host firearms, without having to disassemble the suppressor and change the piston to a different thread pitch. The piston is “universal”; accommodating any pistol mounted with a 3 Lug universal barrel adapter. Additionally, end users with different brand suppressors supported by the CAM-LOK® piston family, will be able to benefit from the interchangeability of CAM-LOK® QD barrel adapters between CAM-LOK® piston models. This adapter also acts as a thread protector for the more expensive barrel’s threads which when used with fixed pistons, are traditionally exposed.
9mm versions are shorter .45 caliber versions feature an extended cylinder to attach to the larger diameter barrels.
Installation & Use Notes : Suppressor should be tightly assembled when using this product to avoid inadvertent disassembly of the suppressor when removing it from QD barrel adapter. We recommend to check suppressor tightness every magazine to ensure it has not worked loose due to vibration caused by the cycling of the slide. Barrel adapters should be installed to their host firearms with a minimum torque rating of 20 ft/lbs using a 3/4 socket and needle type torque wrench. Use of a box end wrench will not have optimal contact with the wrench flat geometry on the adapter and may damage the adapter.
FOR FIXED BARREL APPLICATIONS (PISTOL CALIBERS ONLY) : This can be accomplished using one of our CAM-LOK® direct thread adapters, in conjunction with a CAM-LOK® barrel adapter.
Note: CAM-LOK® is designed to be a covert, QD silencer attachment method, and should not be perceived as an active-locking system. CAM-LOK® should be check-tightened each magazine at a minimum. For customers looking for a more traditionally-threaded system with increased retention, we recommend EZ-LOK™ as an alternative.

NOTE
1/2×28: Indexes off the barrel shoulder. For use on standard, sub compact, compact, and full-size tilt-barrel firearms that have a normal profile of barrel (G19, G17, P320, S&W M&P 2.0).
1/2×28 Special: Indexes off the face of the muzzle. For use on micro compact tilt barrel firearms with little to no barrel shoulder due to the thinner profile of the barrel (G43, G43x, G48, P365, P365XL, Hellcat).
If you are concerned about fitment, the 1/2×28 special will work on a normal profile barrel as well. It will operate the same, but if you have a longer threaded surface on your barrel, you may see uncovered threads rearward of the muzzle device when using this option.
1/2×28 SMG/PCC: Made specifically for SMG’s and PCC’s (Sub Machine Guns and Pistol Caliber Carbines) that have the industry standard length of threads commonly found on carbines: 0.625.”
Glock Gen 4 or Gen 5 users: It is reported the barrel adapter may touch your guide rod when the slide reciprocates. We have not been able to replicate in house using CAM-LOK®/EZ-LOK™ barrel adapters with Glock Gen 4/5 recoil spring assemblies. However, the items below allow your Glock® Gen 4/5 to work with a Glock® Gen 3 recoil spring assembly that does not have this reported issue.

Called and spoke to someone (a real human in less than a minute) who recommended the cam lock and direct thread adaptor for use on a pcc. Install was simple and have shot about 100 rounds suppressed so far with no issue.
My only “gripe” would be no option for expedited shipping.

I ordered two of these off the rip, one 45 cal and one 9mm. I’ve only put the 45 cal adapter on my 1911 so far but from that experience, I have high hopes for the 9mm. To start, the finish looks great and holds up to the mounting and torque process. The scuffs that occurred wiped right off. Next, the fit. The threads are tight on this one. Almost to the point I thought I was cross threading it when trying to hand screw it on. I have a thread protector that mounts easy so “forcing” this adapter on was a little unsettling. BUT, no cross threading occurred and to be safe, I would thread it on and back it off a little at a time until it was all the way the on so there was binding of the threads. Even before torquing, I had absolutely no worries about this coming loose.

The product seems well made , it installed easily and worked well. The lock up itself was very good , I did not encounter the loosening that some people say they have after 250 rounds.
The only reason I gave it a 4 was having to order it and wait to use my supressor , I have the optimus which the piston adapter was made for the cam lock.
other than that I would highly recommend this company and their products as a whole .

Fits and works fine.

I am using the cam-lock system with the 1/2×28 direct thread on my 22 suppressor. This has given me a quick attachment that I have always wanted for it my 22lrs. Works pretty much like a 3 lug but without the spring to over come. Super quick and repeatable which is super nice for POI. Very happy with the system. The brakes fit standard length 1/2×28 threads on the 3 different barrels I used them on. No need for a spacer or shims.

I don’t think it’s possible to design a faster mounting system. Literally just a single turn of the wrist and you’re on. It almost doesn’t seem secure but rest assured, it is. And once engaged, the suppressor stays locked in until YOU decide to remove it. Just make sure you torque it to spec or your suppressor will take your cam-lok with it.
RPedersen –
Makes it very easy and quick to put on or remove suppressor
Dennis –
Awesome! Slight twist and you are ready.
Michael Davis –
I love cam lok. These adapters are expensive but once you invest in a cam lok piston and barrel adapter there is no doing it any other way. Just make sure you apply the correct torque of 20 ft/lbs when installing the adapter and it won’t come off. There’s nothing like adding and removing my suppressor with a simple twist. I love showing people how easy it is at the range. Highly recommended.
Rick S –
Products shipped fast and were exactly what was needed to complete my project. Love the quality of Griffin products!
Nate –
Makes attaching quick and easy!
Don –
Nice addition to FNX 45. Moderate recoil reduction but it works very well. It is better than just a thread protector. Hasn’t come loose.
Dan Jones –
I am very pleased with the quality of this CAM-LOK adapter. The threads are well made and it took the installation torque easily. This is my second one, so now I can move my Bushwhacker 46 directly and quickly from my .45 to my .40. For those who are wondering, the 9/16-24 adapter looks similar to the .45 adapter in the picture, i.e., it is longer than the 9mm adapter.
Avery –
It’s an awesome set up and I plan to convert all my sub guns and non carry pistols with the adapter. Better than having to buy 50 million pistons for all threads.
Hoop –
Works awesome. Detail and finish are exact.

I’ve been using the Cam-Lok adapters on various .45 and 9mm platforms for years. I recently found the need for a 16×1 LH adapter for a new HK purchase so I of course immediately ordered the appropriate Cam-Lok adapter. Griffin Armament not only makes fantastic products, but they ship their products out quickly insuring my new gun is now very quiet.

Great product
Aaron –
Fantastic product as advertised! Love Griffins supressors. However I wish the accessories like the cam-lok adapters were gentle on the wallet especially if you purchased a universal supressor. I wish it came with one or two of you choice after spending almost 1000$
Alan Sanders –
Look to be very well made, very precise
Mr Salvatore Impastato –
Easy to install and really makes mounting can to pistol very quick and secure
Paul Kreisler –
Used to mount my Bushwhacker 46 to a Glock 21. No issues. MAN that thing is quiet!
William Bryant –
Genius system. Will buy more as needed. 10 stars in my book.
Umberto –
Ty it worked out great !

I purchased an Optimus 9 a few years back. This is the 3rd Cam-Lok I have purchased for my pistols. They install easily and securely lock my suppressor into place. Customer service is exceptional. I don’t find this true in many companies now-a-days. CS is always the determining factor in doing business with a company.

Following the tutorial video made the installation easy on my Sig P365, fitted with a True Precision threaded barrel. I chose the 1/2×28 special. It works well and looks good. The holster Sig packaged with my P365 extends about an inch past the muzzle, and it completely covers the CAM-LOK adapter, so I can still carry inside the waistband with no discomfort. Very pleased with this adapter!
Alan –
Very well machined Cam-Lok barrel adapters for my 9mm barrels. Fit perfectly and nice finish.
Jim –
These work great! They come with a label stating “for tilt barrel pistols only” but, after calling Cust Svc, they really mean “non-rifle calibers only” so they can be used on PCCs.

Such a solid product!
Rene Esquivel –
Recently bought two of these, one for my .40 S&W and one for my 9mm. I was able to easily switch from one pistol to another with a twist. Love it, but I do need to add some loctite. After a bit when I was switching from my 9mm it unthreaded instead of coming off with the Cam-lok.
Frank –
Completely change the game when it comes to suppressing a pistol 100% recommend! Keeps my silencers on tightly with no backing off. Also gives it a cool look factor.
Gordon Olson –
The Cam Lok system works great it’s fast easy and secure.
Mohammed Jabir –
It fix perfectly. Happy as a calm?
JJ –
I love how easy it is to move my cans to different guns. I have two different SilencerCo cans these mounts work great.
Rolly –
It greatly reduced connecting the suppressor to the muzzle.
AF –
Use these to quickly swap suppressor between firearms. Use this system for one caliber and EZ-LOK for another caliber to keep from having issues.
Ken –
Fits great. No issues.

I’ve had CAM-LOK adapters for a 9mm can and gun for some time and recently just purchased an adapter for a .22 can and 4 barrel adapters for multiple guns. This is a product that fills a significant gap in the market IMO, particularly when many people only own 1 can per caliber or at least far fewer silencers than firearms. It turns thread on into QD without any loss of POI shift. I do recommend using something whether a paint pen or scribe to mark the can so you always attach it radially in the same way, since there’s likely always some runout between the can, adapters, and barrel threads. If you always attach the can the same way, the POI shift is consistent and predictable. One of my favorite and most useful Griffin products.
Mr. C –
Easy on, easy off. This is a must for your multi cam can.
Jim –
I purchased a few of these and placed on different firearms. Very fast in switching suppressor to different firearms. Locks tight and performs great! Awesome product.
CH –
Slick attachment with solid lockup. doesn’t FEEL like you’re screwing it on very hard but trust me, it’s on there!

Great product, great quality, looks good, fit right, and it works. I couldn’t be happier.
Tait –
Received cam-lok for the 9 mm and fits beautifully. Just waiting on suppressor background to pass test fitment but I’m sure that will be great. Very happy with product.
Phillip Brockwell –
Probably the most innovative product on the suppressor market, it’s so much more convenient and robust than traditional threading. Plus, it serves to protect the fine threads of your somewhat expensive barrel.
Anonymous –
Worked out perfect, if you are a first time rookie I would suggest calling to get an assist from the experts at Griffin. Too many choices

Easy installation and even easier mounting of handgun suppressors. Best universal systems for handguns on the market toady.

I bought cam-lok piston and 45 acp cam-lol barrel attachment because I had few cases of baffle strike on regular silencerco piston that screws on. On regular ones they can get loose and you get your baffle strike. But I never had issues of flying can with traditional pistons. This cam-lok piston is a perfect replacement for the one I have in my silencerco hybrid 46. Once you have barrel extension attached to your handgun it is a breeze to attach can to it. It only takes less than 1/4 of a turn. The downside? It takes exactly as much turn for your can to get loose and fly away. I had only one case – attached it to 45 acp, shot 6 rounds and on the last round it got detached and bounced up and forward maybe 1 feet. I got lucky that I was shooting in front of wooden barrier for shooting while standing – so the can just landed nicely on that wooden shelf. But it was an embarrassing moment. I now check it every few rounds and it can be screwed on tighter after few rounds are shot. After that it holds well. But still I cannot fully relax with it. Another downside is that the cam-lok barrel attachment needs to be removed every time you clean the pistol. You cannot remove barrel with it. Which is a bummer. So, long story short after spending 120$ for both – piston and muzzle device, I can attach and detach can very fast, which is huge plus. But I still have to check it for tightness now and then, and to clean pistol I need a wrench. I guess there always positive and negative sides for everything.
Mohammed Jabir –
Cam lok gives me a good feeling of security when installing my suppressors . Shooting suppressed is so much fun.
Michael –
Bought this, and the matching piston, for the business end of a Dagger 9mm. Went on easy and looks good. I’ve only put a few rounds through it, so far, but it’s working perfectly.
Buster –
Awesome product. Just wish it had a thread protector.
John Evans –
Instalation was straight forward and makes using my banish 45 no longer a chore to take on and off
