Versatile can
Very versatile can. Not the best at rimfire or 556 but it pretty decent at both.
The Optimus Micro re-defines the rimfire class of suppressors by offering the most durable and versatile rimfire suppressor ever designed.
Utilizing state of the art manufacturing and heat treated 17-4 stainless steel throughout, the Optimus Micro supports 5.56mm cartridges out of the box using the included 1/2x28 direct thread mount.
Interlocking HEDP patented baffle technology provides uncompromising sound performance while ensuring durability and proper orientation. Patent pending dual taper locking front caps ensure the suppressor can be used vigorously without fear of unintentional disassembly.
Additionally the suppressor supports 3 lug mounting with the use of the Griffin 3 Lug Kit (which is compatible with the Optimus 9mm, Revolution and Resistance suppressors). Taper Mounts can also be used with the Optimus Micro Taper mount accessory interface. The use of the Optimus Micro Taper Mount Interface with the Optimus Micro allows for compatibility with any length of taper mount muzzle device. The Taper Mount configuration of the Optimus Micro is rated for 22-250 caliber, on 22" or longer barrels.

Very versatile can. Not the best at rimfire or 556 but it pretty decent at both.
I love my Optimus Micros! I have owned one for over 5 years now and another for over 4 years. I have several other rimfire and centerfire cans but use the Optimus Micro the most. For rimfire it has some first round pop on handguns but performs great on rifles. Also not my favorite on an AR but is amazing on 223/5.56 bolt actions with taper mount. Use it on 22wmr and 5.7 also with great results. Compared to my other rimfire cans the Optimus Micro is the simplest to clean and reassemble. For me its a very well rounded multi use suppressor.
I have been using this suppressor for a few days now. As a first time user. I can say this thig is quite. Not movie quiet but what is. I can shoot around my house without the neighbors knowing. I'm running the 3 lug on a Taurus TX22 and a Ruger 10/22. I can say this thig runs great on both.
Picked this little guy up and had a great experience with Capitol Armory. Submitted paper prints with the Griffin Kit and had no issues at all. Receiving the can was simple, just wait and sign. The Optimus Micro is a beefy .22 can, so factor in the weight if you're considering it for a pistol. It balances very well on an FN 502 with a Steiner Mini-TOR IR and Holosun 507c x2. CCI Standard Velocity cycles very well, was even able to cycle some Rem subs through it. Threw the OM on a 16" 5.56 just to see, and I was impressed. Tone was good, I don't have any noise measuring equipment but I would say the sound levels are somewhere between an Polonium and a QDSS NT4 (rah). I didn't run into any issues as far as non - concentric threads or bore misalignment. The wrench flats on the mount make it very easy to pull off a carbon lock with a good crows' foot, and there are a lot of places on this can where you can get enough purchase to wrench it off. I purchased this suppressor primarily as a hard-use 22lr can, and as a backup 5.56 can. I believe this is exactly what it is meant for. I think Griffin has a fantastic can here, and especially considering the low size and weight of this can while being able to handle 5.56 is extremely impressive.
Works great on rimfire. Also great on .223 with the taper mount adapter. Being able to run occasionally on center fire is a nice feature. Easy to disassemble for cleaning. Unless you absolutely need the smallest lightest rimfire can available, the Optimus micro is the one to get.
I wanted the sturdiness of a 556 that also performed well on 22LR. I researched, agonized and went back to verify my selection. Finally, after a 8 month wait I relieved my stamp and Optimus Micro. The performance and interchangeable mounting options have proven my time well spent. I’m always finding new applications and mount combos. Pistol, Rifle doesn’t matter it matches all my requirements. To the team at Griffin. Thank You and be aware we acknowledge that you invest in R&D more than marketing. Both this and my Revo-45 are constant companions to all my shooting sessions. ‘Muricha’ from ARF.com
Nice and short in direct thread configuration on my PS90 SBR. Still shorter than a 10" AR with no can and hearing safe. Works well enough on 22s and surprisingly well on an 18" AR. Cleaning after 22LR use much easier than anticipated.
I have it set up with the taper mount adapters to run on all of my .22 caliber guns. The taper mounts add 4 ounces over direct thread on the rimfires. On the rimfires all you can hear is the action. Others on the range have told me that my AR15s are unusually subdued. No noticeable FRP with those or the centerfires. A quarter fits the outer cap slots perfectly and a nickel does the same for the inner cap.
After a year of waiting I finally got the suppressor. Originally intended to mount it to a 10/22 for the kids but it has also found a home on a .223 varmint gun with great results. my point of impact did shift but accuracy was fantastic. well built suppressor.
I bought this suppressor to have a rugged and long lasting solution for rimfire. I would be happy with just that, but this suppressor also works with 5.57 and 5.56 (or .223). It is a perfect solution for anyone that wants one suppressor that works with multiple firearms.
