1/2x28: Indexes off the barrel shoulder. For use on standard, sub compact, compact, and full-size tilt-barrel firearms that have a normal profile of barrel (G19, G17, P320, S&W M&P 2.0).
1/2x28 Special: Indexes off the face of the muzzle. For use on micro compact tilt barrel firearms with little to no barrel shoulder due to the thinner profile of the barrel (G43, G43x, G42, G48, P365, P365XL, Hellcat).
If you are concerned about fitment, the 1/2x28 special will work on a normal profile barrel as well. It will operate the same, but if you have a longer threaded surface on your barrel, you may see uncovered threads rearward of the muzzle device when using this option.

This thing is the perfect size and cuts the recoil down. I put it on my Glock 17 and it still fits perfectly in all my holsters. This is a great product! Buy it!!!

The micro carry compensator by griffin armament is one of the smallest and lightest compensators on the market currently, but don’t let its size fool you. Since my purchase I have had one training outting and I have to say I am impressed all around with the micro comp. It handles very well. I know that many people say that looks don't matter on your duty weapon, but they do to me and this addition just looks awesome on my G45! Great quality, fit, finish, function and aesthetically appealing. What's not to love.
The size of this is a hair bigger than my thread protector that came with my barrel. It clears an open bottom kydex holster. I was surprised I could actually notice a difference on a glock 19. Further evidence is that the compensator caused a failure to feed on 115gr AE TSM and normal 124fmj, when I did not have these issues before. However, it functions correctly using my carry ammo of 124 +p HSTs. The failure to feed is a non issue as I can swap recoil springs to the next lighter one. But I probably wont because I mainly run 124 nato or +p for training and carry. The 3 ports happened to line up very well even though the barrel is a different manufacturer.
