LEARN ABOUT SILENCERS TO YOUR DOOR!

The Bushwhacker® 46 was designed to exceed end user desires for the best large bore (.46 cal) universal suppressor on the market.  The current (gen 2) version further pushes this high bar to even higher heights of performance.  Engineered to be more compact, more durable, with higher performance, and more mounting options than any other, make the Bushwhacker® 46 the class leader in the universal suppressor category.

Costly R&D resources were spent to develop the patent pending ECO-FLOW™ baffle technology for the Bushwhacker® 46.  This baffle system provides reduced back pressure, greater structural strength, higher heat resistance for enhanced durability, and longer service life, as well as 5-7db sound pressure level drops vs the original version.  This high performance baffle technology allowed engineering to reduce the overall length of the product to a compact 7.75" while simultaneously increasing performance.  These are typically inversely related variables in the world of suppressor R&D.

The Bushwhacker® retains the patented Ratchet-LOK™ end cap system, which allows users to fully take apart, clean, and maintain their suppressor.  Carbon and copper deposits parasitically reduce volume inside suppressors over time, which reduces their sound performance.   The Ratchet-LOK™ end cap system ensures that your Bushwhacker® 46 can be cleaned years after ownership, which resets your suppressor to factory weight and sound performance specifications.

The PLAN-A™ taper mount interface, provides an accurate, minimal length and weight solution to configuring the suppressor in a rifle configuration.  This configuration supports Griffin's tried and true taper mount devices, which have been proven to provide the least point of impact shift and greatest accuracy to long range shooters in the firearms community. This configuration weighs a mere 15.8oz ensuring that hunters can practically field the suppressor all day without undue discomfort.

The booster piston system affords the user the ability to convert the suppressor for use on browning style action (tilt barrel) pistols.  This system accommodates the separately available 3 Lug QD universal piston system which provides a rapid, secure attachment to the host pistol.  No longer do users need to worry about their pistol suppressors loosening during use (as with traditional fixed threaded pistons).  The universal QD piston system features a taper lock which provides secure attachment.  The piston can be attached / detached in any one of 3 positions, ensuring there are no false positive positions to slow down deployment of the suppressor onto the host firearm.  Additionally the manufacturing accuracy of the interface is held to the companies high quality standards for concentrically and blueprint tolerances, ensuring that each mounting position has the same POI shift influence, which is negligible and imperceptible in controlled environment testing.

The Low profile 3 Lug interface and associated adapters, provide rapid and secure attachment for fixed barrel firearms. Sub machine guns, lever guns, and the like benefit from this systems rapid and easy attachment.  This system adds minimal length and weight and is a staple mounting system in the Griffin line.

The A2 1.375x24 mount allows the interfacing of the Bushwhacker® 46 to prevalent mil-spec A2 compensators which are typically seen on AR15 class firearms.  This interface will also fit Griffin Gate-LOK™ devices, the higher quality counterpart to the A2 birdcage.

The .46 caliber diameter provides end users with the most caliber flexibility possible, while retaining quality sound suppression. .450 Bushmaster, .458 socom, .45-70 Govt, and other large bore calibers are at home with the Bushwhacker 46. The .30 caliber Paladin blast shield front cap can be interfaced with the Bushwhacker 46 further improving sound performance on the Paladin with 30 caliber and lesser rounds like .308 Win, .300 BLK, and 6.5 Creedmoor.

As good as a universal silencer gets

Published by Ron P. on 27th May 2022

I've had my bushwhacker for about a year. As many have said, it isn't the best in category for any specific area (maybe apart from large rifle bore) but it performs better than average for what I wanted. I’ve used the bushwhacker for 10+ calibers, both on pistols and rifles, on 20+ guns and it performed better than I expected. For 22 lr and 17 hmr it sounds similar to my other, considerably smaller suppressors. It works well on full sized 9, 40, and 45 pistols, but needs to be considerable lubed up for compact 9s (think G19 sized). A smaller 9mm can didn’t need as much maintenance (Lube once instead of 4 times during a range trip). It suppresses pistol caliber carbines extremely well. For mini actions, it suppresses 204, 5.56, 6.5 Grendel, 300 blackout, and 7.62x39 well enough. Again, there are better caliber specific options. In my option it is hearing safe for 308 win, 6.5 Creedmoor, and 300 win mag. It is as quite as my more expensive and smaller suppressors. I was least impressed on 450 bushmaster. In my opinion it wasn’t quite hearing safe and you’re ears will ring after 3 or 4 rounds. Subsonic 450 bushmaster is a little better, but it’s considerably louder than subsonic 300 blackout. I would expect similar performance from 458 SOCOM or 45-70. I would not trust it to be hearing safe on a 338 lapua or other magnum rifle, but I don’t think Griffin is claiming that. All in all, after several thousand rimfire, pistol, and rifle rounds through my bushwhacker I am extremely happy with it. I wanted a user serviceable do all silencer that can be used on almost any host, and the bushwhacker is that in spades.

    Very few flaws

Published by Ben on 27th Jul 2021

I have enough rounds through the suppressor now to make a well informed review. First, the bad: The ratchet lock end cap system definitely has a break in period, when you first get the can, it WILL be difficult to remove for the first 3-5 cycles The tools supplied for configuring the suppressor are adequate but I would not mind purchasing individual tools so scratching the suppressor isn’t as easy For mounting solutions, the manufacturer says to snug them which you will find leads to things loosening up. You will need to firmly tighten them to ensure they stay where they are. And now for the good things: The construction of the suppressor is such that weight is saved where it can be but it is very rigid and feels solid as a rock. This one suppressor can be used for just about anything you will ever shoot. The company’s warranty is very reassuring that if anything EVER happens to your investment, they will resolve it unless it’s lost or stolen.

    Fantastic investment

Published by Lantz on 9th Jun 2021

I have Paladin brakes on my .223 Wylde and 7.62x39 upper receivers as well as my .308 and .300WM. I love the fact that this suppressor gives great signature reduction on every platform, is light, and I can take it apart for cleaning. I use it all of the time on my bolt guns when on the range or hunting, and have even done some higher volume fire with the 7.62x39, and it holds up wonderfully.

    .22cal to .46cal

Published by BigMike on 2nd Mar 2021

The suppressor is great so far if I don't blow it up or get a baffle strike first. (It came with a .30 cal muzzle break installed I almost shot it on a 9mm pistol) This suppressor is advertised to fit anything from .22 to .46 caliber but you have to spend hundreds of more dollars in order to do what it is being advertised to do. Next is the directions, they are very poor! This is the first suppressor I have purchased. So I have a lot to learn but I assumed that the directions would help me at least understand on what I need on what guns I need it. ( Example need spacers to use on a Beretta M9A3 so the spring slide does not smack the bottom of the suppressor. The directions are vey poorly thought out. This suppressor is not cheap but I feel it should have come with everything needed to do what it is advertised to do work on pistols and rifles from .22 to .46 cal. . Also detailed instructions explaining at lease different functions, bullet diameters, and what is needed to shoot safely without damaging your new $1000+ suppressor you just waited for a year to get.

    Second can

Published by Aaron on 24th Feb 2021

For a multi cal rated can, this thing's sick. I like it. I got the Optimus at first and enjoy that, but that'll be my go to suppressor for my handguns now.

    Total satisfaction

Published by Timothy Martin on 14th Nov 2020

Purchased Bushwacker (Gen I) in May, and was approved in a surprising 5 months! Totally pleased with the performace of the B46! My first suppressor; wanted the caliber versatility and ability to clean. Performance on my 1911 is superb, and even with the large bore end cap, 300 blk is hearing safe (IMO). Just ordered the Paladin .308 end cap and believe it's reduced the report even more. Quality, fit & finish meet all my expectations. Also, Griffin ships fast as lightning on accessories and helped me work through a problem with an incorrectly threaded 1911 barrel. Thanks again team Griffin!

    Progress

Published by David on 26th Jun 2020

I'm still waiting for the government to allow me to take possession of my 1000$ suppressor and today I found out Griffin has released a gen 2 allredy! Gut to love progress! At this rate sometime around gen 5 I'll be able to enjoy my new gen 1 Bushwhacker suppressor.

    Bushwhacker 46 Universal Sound Suppressor

Published by Jacob Stierhoff on 21st May 2020

Purchased this as my first can and I think it’s great. Nice finish I like how versatile it can be. Griffin does a great job with making sure you can get the right attachments you need for the caliber your going to shoot. 100% would recommend.
